Important information and disclaimer
Please read this carefully before requesting a hike. By sending a request, you confirm that you have read and agree to the following.
- Dog walker, not a trainer. I’m a dog walker, not a dog trainer or veterinarian. This service does not include training, behavioural correction, grooming or medical care.
- Your dog’s health and suitability. Please tell me honestly about your dog’s age, health, fitness, medication, allergies and temperament, including any history of fear, aggression, escaping or pulling. Hiking on steep paths and stairs is physically demanding, and some dogs, such as small dogs, senior dogs and dogs with joint, heart or breathing problems, may not be suitable. I may decline a booking, or stop a hike early, if I believe it is not safe or comfortable for your dog.
- Vaccinations, licence and identification. Your dog must be in good health and up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick prevention. Your dog must carry a valid licence, microchip and identification tag where required by Hong Kong law.
- Equipment. Please provide a well-fitting collar or harness and a leash in good condition. Your dog will remain on a leash during the hike.
- Risks of hiking. Outdoor activity carries risks that cannot be fully removed, including slips and falls, strained muscles or paws, heat exhaustion, insect and snake bites, encounters with wild animals or other dogs, sudden weather changes and loud noises. I will take reasonable care of your dog, but you understand and accept these risks.
- Time limit and turning back. Each hike lasts a maximum of 2 hours. I do not guarantee that we will reach The Peak or High West. I will turn back if we run out of time, or if your dog is tired, unwell or uncomfortable, or if the trail or weather is unsafe.
- Weather. I may postpone, shorten or cancel a hike in unsafe conditions, such as typhoon signals, Red or Black rainstorm warnings, thunderstorm warnings, very hot weather or poor trail conditions. If I cancel for this reason, we will arrange a new date together and you will not be charged for that hike.
- Illness, injury and emergencies. If your dog becomes unwell or injured, I will contact you as soon as possible. If I cannot reach you and the situation is urgent, I may take your dog to the nearest veterinary clinic. You agree to be responsible for reasonable veterinary costs.
- Your dog’s behaviour. You remain responsible for your dog’s behaviour. You are responsible for any injury or damage that your dog causes to people, other animals or property, except where caused by my negligence.
- Meeting point and timing. Please arrive at the agreed meeting point on time, with your dog ready. Late arrival may shorten the hike. I only meet near the trailhead, or pick up in Mid-Levels or Sai Ying Pun. I do not pick up from other locations.
- Booking and cancellation. A booking is confirmed only after I reply to you on WhatsApp. Please let me know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Payment. Payment is due on the day of the hike, at the start of the hike. You can pay by cash, FPS or PayMe.
- Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage to your dog or property that is not caused by my negligence, including events outside my reasonable control. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
