Dog hikes to
The Peak.

When your schedule is full, your dog can still get out and enjoy nature. Meet me near the trailhead, or I can pick them up in Mid-Levels or Sai Ying Pun, for a one-on-one hiking trip to either The Peak or High West. I’ll bring them back to the same spot afterwards. You don’t need to come along.

Sim resting beside a stray dog at camp during a hike in Peru’s Huayhuash mountains
About the walker

Hi, I’m Sim.

I’m a dog owner who loves dogs and the outdoors. One of my most memorable hikes took me through Peru’s Huayhuash mountains with a stray dog for company. Sharing the trail with that dog deepened my love for the bond people and dogs share, and helped inspire me to become a dog owner myself.

Now I get to bring the two things I love—dogs and hiking—together with WalkYour 99. I’ll give your dog my full attention as we head out to enjoy Hong Kong’s trails.

Two separate hikes, both round trip

Choose one destination: follow the Morning Trail to The Peak, or take the Morning Trail via Lung Fu Shan and Hatton Road to the High West Viewing Point. Each route turns back to its own starting point without combining both destinations.

1. Morning Trail → The Peak → back

Follow the Morning Trail directly to The Peak, then return the same way. This route does not take the High West summit detour.

Open the shared walking route to The Peak Lookout ↗
  • Distance: about 5.6 km round trip
  • Elevation gain: about 220 m
  • Terrain: paved road. Uphill along the Morning Trail first, then mostly flat on the way to The Peak
  • Duration: max 2 hours round trip. If we haven’t reached The Peak by then, I’ll turn back and return your dog to the meeting point.
  • Return: retrace the Morning Trail

2. Morning Trail → High West Viewing Point → back

From Morning Trail, head through Lung Fu Shan, continue via Hatton Road, and finish at the High West Viewing Point. Turn back there and return to the start along the same route. This hike does not continue to The Peak.

Open walking directions to the High West Viewing Point ↗
  • Distance: about 5.6 km round trip
  • Elevation gain: about 300 m
  • Terrain: uphill along the paved Morning Trail, then a steep staircase to the viewing point. This route has more stairs than the Peak route
  • Good to know: the stairs can be tiring for small dogs, senior dogs or dogs with joint problems; please tell me about your dog’s fitness and any health issues
  • Duration: max 2 hours round trip. If we haven’t reached the High West Viewing Point by then, I’ll turn back and return your dog to the meeting point.
  • Return: retrace the same trail

Route distances and elevations are approximate and vary by exact meeting point.
